Nike Inshape mattress

InShape Mattress is a customisable, easily adjustable postural mattress that can “replicate” the body's unique shape and be modified several times through a vacuum system operated by valves and sensors. 

The idea stems from the need of people with RETT Syndrome to have more versatile and accessible postural mattresses. Inshape Mattress can facilitate therapy at home by improving posture and monitoring effectiveness through a system based on data collected by software and 3D scanning.

InShape Mattress is the prototype designed by OpenDot in partnership with Mattia Ciurnelli and therapists Meir Lotan and Alberto Romano (Airett Onlus). InShape Mattress was among the top five finalists out of more than 400 projects participating in the "Nike Circular Innovation, Design with Grind" Challenge coordinated by OpenIDEO.
