Every form of temporary or permanent, physical or psychological impediment limits simple actions, changing daily life. How to tell the story of an invisible illness and understand how it feels like to perform simple daily actions under special conditions?
Fifty million people worldwide live with rheumatoid arthritis. In recent years, medical progress has made rheumatoid arthritis an invisible illness, alleviating discomfort in patients, but simultaneously decreasing awareness in society.
OpenDot designed a kit for Sanofi Genzyme which helps empathising with people who live with rheumatoid arthritis. Three actions are made difficult by a series of aids, such as navigating a tablet through a rubber band, opening a jar while wearing a padded glove or inserting coins with trapped fingers.
