WHO’S OPENDOT?

OpenDot is a Foundation with a Fab Lab, based in Milan, that supports innovation through participatory design, open source technology, and community involvement, promoting the development of shared and inclusive solutions.

We work as an open platform that connects professionals, companies, national and European partners, designers, researchers, and communities, transforming complex ideas into concrete, understandable, and accessible solutions. 

The person who joins OpenDot will be part of the Communications team and will work closely with key figures such as the Head of Communications, Storytelling and Copywriter, Communications Specialist, Communications Designer, UX/UI Designer, and Project Manager, helping to build and strengthen the narrative of our projects, our identity, and our values through digital channels.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a Social Media Manager, intern or junior employee working full-time, to join our team.

As part of our team, you will work to communicate the Foundation's projects and our identity on social media. Starting from a strategic plan, which will be discussed in weekly and/or monthly meetings, you will be required to create visually appealing videos, photos and graphic contents according to the editorial plan.

WHAT YOU’LL DO 

  • Create photos, videos and graphics according to our editorial plan

  • Develop, plan, and publish content on social media channels

  • Manage the newsletter (Mailchimp) and support community engagement and updates

  • Translate project activities into clear, engaging, and consistent stories

  • Monitor performance and produce reports to optimize communication strategies

  • Collaborate with the team to ensure consistency across all communication touchpoints

  • Contribute to the definition of communication priorities and strategies

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Proficiency in photography, video making and editing, audio recording

  • Skilled in storytelling

  • Strong interest in design, new languages, communication, and technology

  • Experience with Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects/Premiere) and Figma

  • Autonomy, organizational skills, and adherence to shared strategies

  • Previous experience in social media management and content creation

  • Good taste and editorial sensitivity

  • Proficiency with social media platforms and newsletter tools (e.g., Mailchimp)

  • Problem-solving skills and ability to simplify complex issues

  • Team spirit and aptitude for multidisciplinary work
